The ability to influence through personal impact and develop effective influencing skills are essential in today’s workplace. Whether encouraging consideration of alternative approach, a proposition to add long term value or challenging the status quo, the ability to achieve more through credibility and trust-based relationships is key. In this workshop you will consider the competencies and skills to develop strategies for influencing effectively at different levels.

Overview: This workshop introduces a number of models to understand our influence and how to develop and harness it. Strong influence comes from trusting relationships and the workshop will explore Covey’s 13 Behaviours of Trust. Delegates will gain experience in developing their personal strategies to develop their personal influence.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand what is meant by Influence
  • Introduce the Influence and Concern Model
  • Coveys 13 Behaviours of Trust and how these help develop influence
  • Understand different strategies to adopt in different situations of influence
  • Action planning for application in the workplace.
