Mentoring is a critical skill and is a huge benefit for the development of an organisation and its employees. In a world driven by the need for innovation, creative thinking and accountability, mentoring can have a positive impact on both the mentor and mentee. This workshop seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how mentoring can be implemented and used effectively.
Overview: During this workshop you will get clarity around what it really means to mentor and when this can be used to its full advantage. In this action focussed fun session you will practice the core skills to be an effective mentor.
Note: This session does not focus on any specific mentoring scheme or arrangements which may be in place in Queen’s, but aims to develop mentoring skills which can then be applied in practice.

- What is mentoring and why is it valuable.
- Assess yourself as a mentor
- A structure for mentoring, what does good mentoring look like?
- Core skills of great mentoring relationships
- Action planning for application in the workplace.
