Designed for:

Attendance at this course for all staff involved in selection panels for staff recruitment is mandatory.  Staff should attend this course if they are to be involved on a selection panel and have not received training before.  The University, as a matter of good practice and as part of its Human Resources policies, has undertaken to train all staff new to the recruitment and selection process.

 

The course will cover:

  • The skills involved
  • A review of aspects of Equality and Diversity relevant to recruitment
  • The Queen’s Appointment Procedure which must be adhered to by panel members.

 

A one hour Refresher Selection Interview Training course is available if you have attended the course some time ago.

 

Please note: 

  1. Places on this course are normally in demand, please register to attend training in advance as training places may not be available at short notice prior to an interview panel.  Contact the Human Resources team co-ordinating your selection panel for advice if you have a query as to whether you need to receive this training or if you cannot secure a training place.
  2. Priority will be given to staff who have an urgent requirement to participate in a recruitment panel, therefore staff meeting a longer term training need may be asked to reschedule.
  3. This training is not designed for staff seeking to gain experience as an interview candidate – it is only for interview panel members.
