Scopus - A Closer Look

Event Description

Scopus ( is the world’s largest bibliographic and citation database and the source of the citation data used by some of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessment panels.

This course is aimed at researchers who wish to develop their knowledge of the content and functionality of Scopus.

Course participants will learn how to:

  • access and search Scopus
  • manage search results 
  • register with Scopus and set up alerts 
  • view citation counts
  • find impact measures (incl. SNIPs) and compare journal impact

This course will run on:

Friday 2nd November 2018: 10:00-11.30 am. Location: McClay Library, Auditorium. Number of places for staff (all faculties): 5

Monday 20th May 2019: 10:00-11:30 am. Location: McClay Library, Training Room 2. Number of places (all faculties): 3
