This course is an introduction to double-entry bookkeeping as well as to the basic accounting concepts and financial statements.

Upon completion of the course, participants should have an understanding of the following:

• Accounting Concepts (E.g. Accruals Concept)

• Basic Accounting Equation

• Basic Accounting Transactions

• How to prepare a Journal and Perform Double Entry

• What are Financial Statements and why do we use them

• What different types of account codes mean

• How to perform a Bank Reconciliation

The course is aimed at all clerical staff in a finance related role who are interested in learning Basic Accounting Skills and theory.
