The Effective Researcher (2 day course)

This programme is aimed at relatively early career staff researchers.

 

Content:

The purpose is to give you a chance to step back and reflect on your role, your functions and how effectively you are succeeding within them.  This takes place within an intensive 2-day programme, designed to focus on:

• Managing projects, people and multiple-tasks
• Building more effective communication of your research, with potential collaborators, and with colleagues, including managing upwards and horizontally
• Becoming more proactively effective within your current and future contexts

 

Our aim throughout will be to try to address your specific needs, but to address them with practical, tailored solutions that you can begin implementing immediately. 2 days of your time is far too valuable for us not to be targeting concrete outputs for you.

 

The sessions will be very relaxed, but also intense and interactive, working with a broad range of colleagues from across the University, in a supportive, collegial environment.

 

This session is only offered once a year, and places are limited - they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
