Working with SharePoint (for Site Contributors)

This course is aimed at SharePoint Site Contributors (Members). SharePoint Contributors are nominated staff who help to maintain a SharePoint site by adding announcements, uploading documents, adding events, assigning tasks etc. This course will focus on how to use and navigate the SharePoint interface and to make the most efficient use of Document Libraries (to save, edit, share and track documentation), Calendars (to create and share events) and Announcement Lists (to add and manage announcements and links to useful documentation). This course may also be beneficial to SharePoint Owners who need to refresh and/or improve knowledge of SharePoint 2013 functionality.
COVID 19 Restrictions
Due to Covid-19 restrictions face-to-face training can no longer be offered at this time. The course will take the following format:
- A 1 hour on-line training session via MS Teams
- Post-session: Course participants will be provided with access to a SharePoint 2013 practice site accompanied with practical exercises to complete asynchronously. In addition, access to a SharePoint 2013 user guide and useful information is available
- A follow-up online clinic to address any queries/questions
Aims/Aimed at
The course is aimed at nominated staff who contribute (or listed Site Owners) to a School/Directorate SharePoint site or sub-site.
Pre-requisites
It is anticipated that all SharePoint Site Contributors/Owners are using Office 2010/13 to benefit from the full functionality offered by the latest version of SharePoint.
