Question blocks allow you to group particular questions together and use different settings for each block. Breaking an assessment up into question blocks makes it easier to manage the content added, especially if the content is contained in multiple topics.
When you create an assessment, a default question block is automatically created and titled 'Question Block - 1'. Please note, a question block must have a title and at least one question before the assessment can be saved.
Jump blocks allow you to bring the student to another location in the assessment by adding conditions that will trigger the jump. For example, if a student completes all questions in one question block or gets a certain mark or percentage in a block, they could move on to a different question block. Jump blocks also allow you to bring the student to the end of the assessment.
You need to publish your assessment before you can schedule it. Click on Authoring, Assessments, tick the box next to your assessment and click Publish.
If you amend questions already added to an assessment or amend the assessment, you must publish the assessment again so that it is updated and the changes are included.
When you create your assessment (or modify an existing assessment), scroll to the bottom, click the Outcome tab, any outcomes previously created will show. Click New, enter a title for the outcome and a score range this outcome applies to. Enter the feedback. Click Save.
To delete an outcome, tick the box next to the outcome and click Delete.
Click the arrow next to People and select Groups. You may need to click the plus symbol to show all of the groups. Tick the box next to your group and from the left pane, click Schedule. Click Add Assessments and browse to the folder that contains your assessment. Select the assessment, click Add and Done. Click Next and complete the details such as number of attempts and the date/time period you want the assessment to be accessible. Click Finish.
Click the arrow next to Administration and select Scheduling/Group Membership. In the box next to Participant ID contains, enter your staff number and click the Search button. Your details should appear. Click once on your name to select and from the panel on the left, click Schedule. Click Add Assessments and browse to the folder that contains your assessment. Select the assessment, click Add and Done. Click Next and complete the details such as number of attempts and the date/time period you want the assessment to be accessible. Click Finish.
Select Scheduled Assessments across the top of the screen. According to the type of assessment you have set (Test, Quiz, Exam), you will see the corresponding tab. Click the tab, your assessment will be shown.
If none of the assessments within a folder have been published, the folder will not appear in the structure. Publish the assessment and try to the scheduling process again.
