Wellbeing Training – Mood Matters

As part of Queen’s ongoing commitment to promoting and supporting staff wellbeing, two half day training programmes have been developed and are delivered in collaboration with Aware NI.

Mood Matters for all staff (delivered by Patrick Anderson, Aware NI):

The Mood Matters programme deals with unhelpful thinking, stress and low mood in a fun and interactive way and includes the following:

  • Focuses on breaking down stigmas around mental health;

  • Discussion looks at triggers for stress, signs and symptoms and how to manage;

  • Group will learn the signs and symptoms of Anxiety and Depression and appropriate treatments for these;

  • Teaches self-care techniques which promote resilience and a healthy mind;

  • Aims to help adults learn about depression and recognise the role of self-help strategies in improving mood;

  • Signposting towards sources of support and help for themselves and others.

Mood Matters for Managers and Supervisors (delivered by Patrick Anderson, Aware NI and Dr Todd, QUB):

The AWARE Mood Matters Workplace Programme for Managers and Supervisors is a fully interactive Programme which allows the participants to engage in activities that will greatly improve their awareness of mental health in the workplace.  The course also has reflective practice built in to help people reflect on the learning and how it will have an impact their interactions with others at work and how their personal style can have an impact on how they manage others. The training will be co-delivered by Occupational Health.
