One Woman's Own Story

One of the HIV positive women who participated in our consultation group chose to tell her own story. During her second pregnancy, she had presented late to maternity services, having just arrived in Northern Ireland from her home in South Africa. Like all mums her biggest concern was for her children. However, throughout the interview she keeps going back to an experience in the maternity ward, when she was asked to use a separate toilet, which had an 'out of order' sign on the door, highlighting the impact this interaction had on her memory. Listen to her tell her own story.....
