What’s Wrong with Civility and Politeness in Political Discourse?

The Institute invites you to the second of a three-part series of dialogues between Republicans and Loyalists.

The events take place on Saturday mornings with free tea and coffee and sandwich lunch, to permit a broad based audience. Each event has a moderator, and two short contributions from speakers, before participants break into small group discussions to permit deeper engagement. Q&A will close the event.

Tea and coffee will be available from 9.30am.  Sandwich lunch will be provided from 12.00 noon-1.00pm.

The Moderator is the journalist Brian Rowan and the speakers are Ms Linda Dillon from Sinn Féin and Mr Winston Irvine from PUP.

The theme for the third encounter will be “What’s wrong with equality? on 30 June. This will be moderated by Michael Wardlow, Chief Equality Commissioner, and the speakers are Cllr Deidre Hargey and Cllr Julie-Anne Corr-Johnston.

These events are free and open to the public, but registration is essential for catering purposes.
