Call for Abstracts: Synergizing AI Research: Linking Diverse Expertise to Ignite Progress

20 April, 2026

The Leverhulme Interdisciplinary Network on Algorithmic Solutions (LINAS) Doctoral Training Programme

We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Leverhulme Interdisciplinary Network on Algorithmic Solutions (LINAS) Conference will take place on 20 April 2026 at Queen’s University Belfast.

The conference this year is entitled “Synergizing AI Research: Linking Diverse Expertise to Ignite Progress”.

We aim to focus on the advantages that AI and machine learning can bring to research and innovation, whilst also critically engaging with their limitations and potential harms.

We are honoured to have Professor Elke Schwarz and Professor Brooke Simmons as the keynote speakers for the conference.

We invite MA and PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and academics to submit an abstract (maximum 250 words) for consideration by 30 January 2026.

As a note, applicants are encouraged to submit research that features either a mixed-methodological approach or combines multiple disciplines to reflect on the purpose of technology and its relation to and impact on humanity, the state, or society.

The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Ethics and Governance of AI
  • AI & ML in Scientific Research
  • Human-Machine Collaboration
  • Responsible Algorithmic Science and Innovation
  • AI and the Law
  • AI, Creativity and the Arts
  • Algorithmic Security
  • AI in Fintech
  • AI, Knowledge and Learning
  • AI and Healthcare
  • AI and Being Human

Please submit your abstracts for consideration to linaspgconference@qub.ac.uk.

Please write the subject of the email as follows: LINAS 2026 - Abstract Submission

If you would be interested in submitting an abstract, registering to attend, or would like further details on the Conference, please follow this link to our website.
