This public event brings together researchers and practitioners to explores transformative approaches to peace mediation with a focus on innovative strategies and creative approaches.

Talk4peace is led by Dr Maria-Adriana Deiana (QUB) and Dr Heidi Riley (UCD) and funded by the HEA North-South Research programme, the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science and the Shared Island Fund.

10:30: Welcome address and Summary of Talk4Peace Findings

 

11:00 - 12:30: Panel 1 - Promoting Inclusion: Innovations in Research and Practice

Chair: Liza Wilkinson (Director of Tides Training and Consultancy)

Panellists: Dr Julia Palmiano Federer (ETH Zurich), Sara Cook (Independent Mediator and Conciliation specialist), Dr Nafees Hamid (Kings College London) and Enda Young (Managing Director Mediation Northern Ireland)

 

12:30 – 13:30: Lunch

 

13:30 – 15:00: Panel 2 - The Transformative Potential of the Arts & Creative Methods

Chairs: Dr Maria Adriana Deiana (QUB) and Dr Heidi Riley (UCD)

Panellists: Dr Nila Premaratna (Newcastle University), Dr Gail Ritchie (Artist and International Relations scholar), Dr Laura Davis (Poet and independent expert in people-centred conflict analysis), Stéphanie Heckman (Independent graphic recorder and visual facilitator) and Ola Salah (Independent peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity expert).
