The Global Scholars Network on Identity and Conflict (GSNIC) hosted its annual Conference in Sarajevo on 19-20 September 2025. GSNIC is a collaborative initiative between the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University and the Mitchell Institute at QUB.

The Sarajevo Conference on 'Intergroup Norms after Violent Conflict: Insights from Research and Practice' brought together scholars and practitioners from numerous countries to discuss different levels of intergroup norms (micro-, meso-, macro-) on the basis of research and practitioner engagement across many different conflict settings.

Mitchell Institute Professors Louise Mallinder, Kieran McEvoy and Richard English all participated in the Conference, which received funding from the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
