Harri Holkeri Lecture 2017

10 May, 2017

Former Finnish President Tarja Halonen delivered the Harri Holkeri Lecture on 'Reflections on women and peace-building' to a capacity audience at Queen's University last night on 'Europe Day', the 9 May.

The Lecture is a major event in the annual Spring Festival of Conflict Transformation organised by the university's Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice.  It marks the contribution of the late Finnish Prime Minister, Harri Holkeri, to the Northern Ireland peace process.  Finnish Ambassador to the UK, Paivi Luostarinen, and Finnish Ambassador to Ireland, Jaana Teckenberg, as well as US Consul General Dan Lawton, were in the audience.
