We have two very exciting events happening at the end of this month.

We have an all day Workshop entitled "Introduction to Systematic Reviews & Evidence and Gap Maps" on 29 May 2018 starting at 9.00am in the Peter Froggatt Centre. Registration is £40 and places are limited.

Topics that will be looked at are

  • Why systematic reviews matter
  • Types of evidence, types of evidence synthesis products, and types of reviews (includes Evidence & Gap Maps)
  • Setting a review question: the PICOS  (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Setting)
  • Group work on identifying review product and question
  • Group interaction on PICOS
  • Planning an evidence synthesis project

We also have a Public Lecture entitled "Ten Principles of Evidence-based Policy" on 29 May 2018 at 12.30pm in the Peter Froggatt Centre. Registration is free but places are limited (those registered for the workshop will be attending this).

Evidence-based policy is the fashion of the day. But what does it mean in practice, and what have we learned from different approaches to evidence-based policy and practice around the world? This talk will present ten principles for evidence-based policy and practice, including using the right evidence to answer the question, the need to draw on the global evidence base to answer questions, addressing second generation questions, and  making evidence accessible. Examples will be used from a range of sectors with policy experiences from around the world.

You can register for either event in our Events  section of the website.
