Launch Event for Campbell UK & Ireland

What are systematic reviews and why are they so important in ensuring the better use of evidence for policy and practice? How does Campbell UK & Ireland intend to promote the greater production and take up of systematic reviews regionally and nationally?

The following presentations were given at the launch of Campbell UK & Ireland at Queen's University Belfast on 7th June 2017. Given by leading international experts in the field, they provide an excellent introductory overview for those wishing to learn more about systematic reviews and their role in promoting evidence-informed policy and practice.

Professor Julia Littell, Co-Chair and Editor-in-Chief of the Campbell Collaboration, sets out the case for Campbell Systematic Reviews.

Peter Neyroud, Co-Chair of the Crime and Justice Coordinating Group of the Campbell Collaboration and former Chief Constable of Thames Valley, talks about the importance of Campbell Systematic Reviews for policing.

5. LEARNING FROM THE PAST: SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS IN EDUCATION

Professor Terri Pigott, Co-Chair of the Methods Group of the Campbell Collaboration, considers how systematic reviews have influenced - or not - education policy and practice and what lessons can be learnt from this.

6. WHY AND HOW TO USE SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS FOR BETTER POLICY AND PRACTICE

Dr Howard White, Chief Executive Officer of the Campbell Collaboration explains why systematic reviews are important and sets out some principles for evidence-based policy and practice based on the experience of differing groups around the world.
