Four Tales (Crónica, 2026) is SARC alumni Matilde Meireles' upcoming album where sound and architecture unite in conversation. Floating between documentation, imagined drifts and ecosystems, the concert will explore urban infrastructures and bodies of water as entangled entities to be carefully tended to. Matilde (field recording and electronics) will be joined by SARC alumni Conor McAuley (percussion), SARC PhD researcher Michael Speers (percussion), and Professor Paul Stapleton (tromba marina and electronics), the quartet featured on the fourth track of the album.

The music expands on Meireles' work for DRIFT, a collaborative project with architecture studios OGU and MMAS for the River Lagan, conceived as a "floating instrument": an open-ended public space fostering new perspectives on city-river connections. DRIFT was commissioned by Belfast City Council for the Belfast 2024 cultural programme.

About the Venue
The concert takes place at Riddel’s Warehouse, located on Ann Street beside Musgrave Police Station in central Belfast. The warehouse is owned by Hearth Historic Buildings Trust, a charity established in 1972 with a mission to rescue and restore historic buildings for the enjoyment and benefit of all. The longest-established building preservation trust in Northern Ireland, Hearth has restored over fifty buildings at risk. Acquired in 2017, Riddel’s Warehouse is an ironmongery warehouse representing an important part of Belfast’s industrial heritage from the mid-19th century, currently being restored for arts and co-working use as a vibrant destination in the heart of the city.

Please note that this venue is not fully accessible. There are no toilet facilities within the building; the nearest public toilets are located at Laganside Bus Centre, accessible from Princes Street or Donegall Quay. On-street parking is available for two hours directly across the road, with additional parking beside Laganside Bus Station off Donegall Quay.
