By the time Debussy began writing his two books of preludes he had already established himself as an important and prolific composer. Both books of preludes were composed between 1909 and 1913 and exemplify Debussy's masterful use of colour and expression, harmony and melody, texture and rhythm. Each prelude depicts a scene or tells a story but, interestingly, Debussy chose to place his titles at the end of each piece as if to suggest that the listener's interpretation of each suggestion is as important as his own. Nadene will present a selection of Debussy’s Book One preludes along with Chopin’s famous Raindrop Prelude and his harmonically and melodically rich Polonaise Fantaisie Op.61, full of Romantic expression.

Nadene Fiorentini, the National Concert Hall’s 'Rising Star' of 2014 & Brennan Prizewinner at the 2012 Dublin International Piano Competition, has been concerto soloist with the RTE NSO & CO, RIAM Symphony Orchestra & Dublin Orchestral Players as well as being an experienced recitalist. She released her debut solo piano album in 2014.
