Join us for solo performances from Brendan Kerr,  Eoghan Rainey  and guests

Brendan Kerr is a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Belfast. He recently graduated from Queen’s University with a First-Class honours degree in Music & Audio Production. During his studies, he was President of the Music Society and a leader of the traditional Irish music group, playing a significant role in the traditional music events and projects at QUB, most recently playing to Hillary Clinton as part of her inauguration as Chancellor of Queen’s University.

Brendan was introduced to traditional Irish music through Irish dancing from a very young age, competing up to world championship level until he was 18. Through dance, he discovered traditional Irish music and wanted to learn the tunes to which he had spent years dancing to; he started off learning whistle, then picking up guitar and bodhrán along the way.

Influenced by the likes of Brian Finnegan and John McSherry, Brendan has been heavily inspired by these modern whistling greats and will deliver songs old and new from some of the players he has looked up to.

Eoghan Rainey is a classical and fingerstyle guitarist from Donegal who graduated from Queen’s in 2021 in Music & Audio Production. Throughout his studies, Eoghan has integrated contemporary fingerstyle and percussion guitar material into his repertoire. Influences of Antoine Dufour and Ben Lapps can be heard in his Debut EP “Affinity”.
