------------------------------------------

Justin Harms

Is a second year undergraduate student at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is pursuing a classical piano performance degree under Dr. Robert Marler, and has been studying with Dr. Galina Crothers while at Queen’s University.

Katie Lyons

Katie is a final year BMus student who studies double performance in classical voice. She is an avid choral singer, and enjoys singing as a member of Belfast Cathedral Choir, the Charles Wood festival singers, Cappella Caeciliana and as a Banham Scholar at First Church Belfast. She is currently in preparation for her final year recital, during which she will be performing a varied repertoire including the piece she will perform today, ‘Laurie’s Song’ from Aaron Copland’s opera ‘The Tender Land’.

Amelia Ochoa

Is a second year classical piano student, and has been playing for 15 years. She studies under Dr. Kristian Klefstad at Belmont University in Nashville.

Dairine McCaughley

Dáiríne has been singing long before she could talk! After completing ALCM in Classical and LLCM in Musical Theatre, Dáiríne has been using her time in Queens to focus on classical music so that she can perform both genres in her final recital. She looks forward to her performance and her future career in music.

Sara-Jo Loney

Sara-Jo is a creative pianist who plays an electric array of material from classical composers to popular artists, both past and current. Alongside working towards her final recital at QUB, Sara-Jo is preparing repertoire for her ALCM diploma that she hopes to complete by June.

Kathryn Bingham

Today I will be performing “Honey Bun” from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical; ‘South Pacific’. I enjoy this song because it’s a bit of fun and full of energy as it is set during a variety show given to lift the spirits of sailors and soldiers who are away at war.

Orly Watson - Accompanist

Orly Watson is an official accompanist, teaching assistant, and PhD composer at Queen’s. He is a notable figure in the upcoming generation of Irish pianists and is widely active as a song accompanist and chamber musician. His solo repertoire is particularly focused on the Romantic literature, with significant emphasis on the music of Liszt and Russian composers. He read Music at the University of Oxford, with his academic studies being focused primarily on the life and works of Delius, and then studied the piano at the Royal Academy of Music. He is currently continuing piano studies with Michael Dussek in London in addition to his composition studies at Queen’s.
