Prattyush Banerjee

Prattyush Banerjee is a widely known North Indian Raga musician and a leading sarode player today. He is also an acclaimed composer-arranger and an instrument designer. A foremost disciple of the legend, Padmabhushan Buddhadev Das Gupta, Banerjee initially trained under his father, Shri Prasun Kumar Banerjee and Pandit Samarendra Sikdar. Besides his solo concerts, he takes part in various crossover projects and has featured in the MTV Coke Studio in India and the J.S. Bach Festival in Belgium. For nearly thirty years now, he has been doing commendable work for numerous music albums, orchestras, choirs, TV series and films. Banerjee has redesigned the traditional sarode considerably and has created its first electric version, the Jyotidhwani. An erudite speaker, he has published several articles on music and worked as a research consultant with the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata.

Gurdain Rayatt

Gurdain Rayatt is one of the leading tabla players in the UK today. Classically trained from the age of 3 by his father and grandfather, Gurdain became a disciple of the maestro, Pandit Shankar Ghosh and is now a disciple of Pandit Yogesh Samsi. Besides performing at traditional Indian concerts, he has collaborated with a range of music genres including Brazilian, Spanish, African music, electronica and dance. He has performed many times at the Darbar Festival, the WOMAD Festival and prestigious venues such as the Southbank Centre and Royal Albert Hall.
