Article on numerically stable modelling of bow-string interaction published May 2025

Paper title: Numerical modelling of elasto-plastic friction in bow–string interaction with guaranteed passivity

Ewa Matusiak (IWK), Vasilis Chatziioannou (IWK, SARC PhD graduate), and Maarten van Walstijn (SARC) published an article in Frontiers in Signal Processing on modelling bow-string Interaction. Their numerical model is to first to guarantee passivity and numerical stability for any feasible set of elasto-plastic friction parameters, and as such offers a robust basis for simulation and sound synthesis of bow-string interaction.
