ABOUT THE COURSE

MASTERS IN MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

This programme is truly interdisciplinary. You will be taught by experts across the spectrum of chemistry, physics and engineering in fields such as nanoscale functional and photonic materials, mechanochemistry, composite structures and metallurgy. Through theory and practical application, you will develop fundamental materials insight, enabling you to excel in a career in materials science and engineering

“Understanding and controlling the properties of materials is crucial for driving technology forward. This has always been the case: throughout human history, societal developments have relied on the materials used from stone to bronze, to iron and finally to silicon ages. This course will take graduates who have been educated in the physical sciences or engineering and build their knowledge of the fundamental and applied aspects of materials science.” Prof Marty Gregg
