Develop yourself as a strategic leader
Register Now

Every Masters student at Queen's has the opportunity to develop and enhance their personal leadership skills through a range of programmes.

During the Master your Leadership 4-day programme you will apply your newly honed skills in a simulated work environment, working in a multidisciplinary team to solve a challenge set by an employer from the public, private or third sector.

Before the course ends, you will complete the Kouzes and Posner 360 Student Leadership Challenge (LPI) to help you assess your leadership skills and prepare a personal development plan.

This programme is elegible for a Future Ready Award.

Working with an employer you and your team will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand the theory of team development within organisational structures.
  • Develop new ways of thinking and problem solving.
  • Maximise your potential within a team.
  • Improve your understanding of emotional intelligence, stress management and unconscious bias.
  • Explore and apply leadership skills and styles.

Over 1000 students have successfully completed this programme. Sign up and take the first steps in your leadership journey.

Feedback from previous participant Ryan McCall, Part time MSc Construction and Project Management

What did you learn on the course?

I learn that everybody has a unique role in business – some people are better as leaders, and some have more strengths when they’re the one taking direction from a leader.

What did you find useful?

I found it useful to learn that people skills are really important when becoming a leader. I was happy I got a chance to improve on my own people skills during the course.

Why did you enjoy the course?

I found the course useful in two ways – it helped me connect with other students on my course, and it helped me develop my working skills in my full-time role. I also enjoyed getting to work as part of a team.

Why would you recommend others to sign up?

Definitely - this course shows students just how critical it is to be good at working as part of a team. I’d also recommend it to anyone who wants to work in a professional setting, because the course does a great job of showing how integral a good team is to successful projects, and warned against taking people for granted.
