Research Culture Celebration
The postgraduate research carried out at QUB is some of the most diverse in the world, encompassing an array of specialities and topics. The ninth-oldest university in the UK, Queen’s has a proud history of conducting innovative, impactful, and world-leading research, changing people’s lives for the better.
Each June, we shine a spotlight on QUB research with our month-long 'Research Culture Celebration' at the Thomas J Moran Graduate School. This is a programme of events and workshops that align to the work and development needs of today's researchers, whether you're a current PhD student or a Masters student aspiring to progress to PhD. Our Research Culture Celebration talks and workshops are delivered by researcher development experts, industry consultants, and senior academics from QUB and further afield.
An annual highlight of the programme is the Queen's final of the Vitae 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, which in 2025 was held on Thursday 12 June. There are monetary prizes and engraved trophies awarded to the winners and the overall winner goes on to represent Queens, competing in the prestigious Vitae 3MT® UK Final.
