Phosphorus: its importance to the environment and circular economy

Speakers will be from both academia and industry, and will include presentations on;

  • Phosphorus pollution and its impact on freshwater catchments including Lough Neagh;
  • The development of technologies for phosphorus removal and recovery;
  • Opportunities for the use of recycled phosphorus products in for example fertilisers; and
  • Case studies on the use of recovered phosphorus products.  

A range of industry representatives, the farming community and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs will discuss the challenges associated with phosphorus sustainability.
