Get help to demystify, prepare for, and navigate your academic journey. Better understand what is required of you as a postgraduate student and develop the high-level skills you will need to succeed. Perfect your academic writing style, produce high-quality research and learn how to project manage your studies.

  • 1-2-1 Support with Academic Writing

    Better understand what is required of you as a postgraduate student in a one-to-one appointment with one of our experienced Consultants. These private consultations focus on your individual academic needs. Get valuable feedback on a piece of writing and become equipped to produce higher quality work.

    These appointments can be booked via MyFuture.

  • Writing Retreats

    The Thomas J. Moran Graduate School hosts various writing retreats throughout the year to help support with your writing productivity. You will have the opportunity to use techniques such as free writing and pomodoro to make significant writing progress, set your own writing goals and bond with peers.

  • Preparing for Differentiation and Annual Progress Review

    We host regular workshops to teach you how to prepare effectively for Differentiation and APR, giving you insights into regulatory requirements. We help you to create preparation strategies, identify common questions and offer you the opportunity to practise your delivery for these assessments.

  • Preparing for the Viva

    We also offer regular workshops that teach you more about the Viva and how to start to prepare to defend your Doctoral Thesis. You'll gain insights into what the Viva is, and it's purpose and process. We explore a range of common viva questions and you'll identify strategies for answering those questions, while having the opportunity to practise your delivery.

  • Wellbeing for PGR Assessment - Assessment Support Hub

    Navigating assessment milestones on a postgraduate research (PGR) programme can be a rewarding and challenging experience. However, sometimes things can feel overwhelming and you may find yourself facing challenges you haven't encountered before. Looking after your wellbeing by staying physically and mentally healthy is crucial if you are to reach your full potential and make your PGR journey an enjoyable and memorable experience.

     

    We encourage you to take proactive steps to address any concerns you have promptly, moving towards a swift recovery of your emotional wellbeing so that you can engage with your assessment as expected. If you need additional support there are a range of options provided at this page.
