Making an Application
Connecting with Current Staff and Students
We are happy to connect you with current staff and students at any stage during the application process. So, if you want to find out more about the programme from the students themselves, such as studying at the different universities, undertaking an industrial placement or choosing the substantive PhD project please let us know and we will link you up with someone who can share their experience and insights with you. Contact Brenda Morris or Caryn Hughes in the first instance.
Timeline for Applications
Recruitment for places commencing in September 2019 is now live. Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis until all places for 2019 entry have been filled.
Due to demand for places, early applications are strongly encouraged.
Interview panels will include CDT staff from both Queen’s University and the University of Glasgow. Candidates will be given the opportunity to have a tour of the CDT and to meet some of the students. Successful candidates will also be invited to attend the CDT PIADS annual conference, held this year on the 17-18 June in Belfast.
Submitting Your Application
Applications for places on the CDT PIADS programme should be submitted through the Direct Admissions Portal at Queen’s University Belfast.

In addition to fulfilling the necessary academic background, we expect that successful applicants will be motivated to take full advantage of the full range of opportunities that we offer and they will demonstrate a commitment to engaging with staff and students across the partnership.
