ALL-CAN Training
Who Should Apply

Highly motivated graduates with strong academic potential and an interest in developing a research career in precision cancer medicine or related fields. Applicants should be enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research and keen to train in a collaborative, all-island and international research environment.

  • How To Apply

Applications are made through a centralised ALL-CAN Training recruitment process. Applicants do not apply directly to individual universities at the first stage.

    Your application will include:

    • Academic background and CV

    • A statement of motivation and research interests

    • MSc programme and institution preferences

    • Referee details and right-to-study declaration

Applications are anonymised and assessed jointly by academic reviewers across the partnership.

  • Eligibility

ALL-CAN Training includes a mandatory international research component in the United States. Participation in this element of the programme is subject to meeting United States immigration and entry requirements.

Eligibility is determined by programme funding conditions and applies consistently across all ALL-CAN Training partner institutions.

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

    • UK National

    • Irish National

    • EU National

    • Hold Settled Status (UK)

    • Hold Indefinite Leave to Remain or Indefinite Leave to Enter (UK)

    • Hold an equivalent permanent residence permission in the Republic of Ireland

Applicants who require a student visa, or who hold Pre-Settled Status only, are not eligible for the programme.

Progression from the Master’s to the PhD stage is conditional and subject to programme requirements and standard institutional admissions processes.

  • Selection Process

The selection process is competitive and involves shortlisting, interview, and approval by the Programme Leads. Only successful candidates progress to formal Master’s admissions at partner institutions.
