NI Cyber Community Gathers for Quantum-Themed Breakfast Club at CSIT

As part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, CSIT was pleased to host NI Cyber’s November Breakfast Club, bringing together members of the local cyber and tech ecosystem.

The session, held at the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), explored the growing intersection of quantum technologies and what these advances mean for industry and academia and in Northern Ireland.

A strong turnout from across the region’s cyber sector heard introductions and insights from a diverse line-up of speakers, including:

  • Professor Máire O’Neill (CSIT)

  • Professor Paul Miller (CSIT)

  • Stevie Morrow (Options Technology)

  • Dr Sarah McCarthy (Citi)

  • Dr Ciara Rafferty (CSIT)

  • Trevor Graham (Arqit)

Talks spanned post-quantum cryptography, the potential of quantum and AI, and the key risks and challenges we must prepare for as these technologies evolve.

Attendees engaged in lively discussion during and after the talks, reflecting Northern Ireland's growing expertise, enthusiasm, and capability to shape the future of quantum innovation.
