Abstract

Fast development and evolution of artificial intelligence is profoundly affecting International and National IP Systems as it rapidly permeates society. Indeed, the current AI revolution, led by Eastern Asia and to a certain extent the US and a few OECD countries, challenges legal concepts of authorship, inventorship, but also of novelty, collective works, ... not talking of working methods for ascertaining intellectual property rights granting and enforcement. Once this complex panorama is drawn, scholars need to reflect on, how long and how far governments can and / or want to resist or accompany major evolutions that are both wanted and / or feared by society and business, including current IPR owners.

Laurent MANDERIEUX

Bocconi University of Milan, Italy, Founder and Member of the Directorate Board, Bocconi LL.M in Law of Internet Technology, Director, Bocconi Summer Schools in Law, Chair, European IP Teachers’ Network, Coordinator, Transatlantic IP Academy, Director, FIDE TIPSA Global Digital Encounters, and invited Professor / Lecturer of Intellectual Property Law in Universities and Training institutes in many countries of Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Before joining WIPO, he also worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) in Rome, Italy, and at the European Union in Brussels.
