Tarra Ng - A fond farewell

"The opportunities here are truly endless, and I’m so glad I have found a new passion for myself during my time here."

This month, I come to the end of my road as an undergraduate law student. It’s been a long journey, and I would like to show my appreciation from having such an amazing time here as a law student.

Thank you so much to QUB for giving me so many opportunities to expand my horizons not just in terms of gaining knowledge about the law and sharpening my research skills to prep me for the legal profession, but also in helping greatly in my development as a person. By taking up various jobs in QUB such as being a student ambassador and content creator, I have gained valuable work experience and have met so many people I would never have met otherwise, which has strengthened my networking. I also got to build good rapport with the people I work with and have fostered good professional relationships with them. In addition, working here has made me realise that I like content creation and enjoy public-facing jobs! The opportunities here are truly endless, and I’m so glad I have found a new passion for myself during my time here.

Moreover, through taking part in QUB’s various events and initiatives, I have met some amazing people and got to do some amazing things I never thought I will be able to do, such as make chocolate in a chocolate-making workshop, dance in the St Patrick’s Day Parade or doing stargazing on an accommodation trip!

Of course, as a top 10 law school in the UK, studying here has been an eye-opening experience on the depth and breadth of the law, especially with it being so research-heavy. With that, I’d like to thank my lecturers for helping me during my time of need by providing guidance, and personal tutors and advisor of studies for caring about me as a person by checking in on me. It truly means a lot to me!

On top of that, I’d like to thank my supervisors for treating me really well and being an absolute joy to work with.

Finally, thank you so much to my friends and family who have supported me during my time here. I have made so many memories that I will not forget, and I really appreciate the fun times that we shared!
