CWI researchers awarded ‘Best Paper’ at IEEE 5G World Forum
Three researchers from ECIT’s Centre for Wireless Innovation attended the virtual IEEE 5G World Forum where they presented a paper and were awarded first place.
Dr Babar Abbasi, Prof Vince Fusco, and Dr Oleksandr Malyuskin presented their paper, entitled ‘Alignment Aspects of OAM Signal Reception Using Rotman Lens Based Circular Array’. This work considers orbital angular momentum (OAM) signal reception and discusses the alignment aspects while using a Rotman lens based multimode circular patch antenna array.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) held the 2020 IEEE Third 5G World Forum virtually, bringing together representatives from industry, academia, and research to share their insights and discuss advances in 5G as well as address challenges in 5G deployment.
Dr Babar Abassi commented: “We are delighted to have our work recognised at this highly esteemed conference. Our research is significant in making advanced improvements to 5G and beyond. We look forward to continuing our work in this field.”
