A unique opportunity to conduct high impact research at the interface between science and engineering
The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering provides opportunities for research at the interface between science and engineering. The collaboration between chemists and engineers provides a unique environment for collaborative research within our two main research themes of Healthcare and Sustainability. Extensive refurbishment of research and teaching laboratories has created a world-class working environment for students, researchers and staff.
Pioneering research is the lifeblood of the School and is evidenced by the most recent REF Results (2014), in which 80 per cent of the impact of research in the School was judged to be world leading or internationally excellent. The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering was also ranked very highly amongst other institutions in the UK.
Undertaking a PhD is a highly rewarding experience and here at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most passionate researchers in their field. The School currently has PhD students from many countries around the world, and therefore enjoys the benefits that diversity brings to its research community.
