Congratulations to our own UG Alice Liddell (SMAE), and her teammates Suyi Yang (Psychology) and Nidhi Kumari (EEECS) for their winning entry in the ‘Building Good Together’ innovation competition! The SWAN organised and EPS-funded competition brought together female students from all Schools to create teams and combine their skills to develop and propose solutions to an identified social problem. 1st place team AAHAR tackled Food Waste and Food Poverty using a multi-part approach: an app that scanned QR codes to alert people to food about to go out of date, a pantry and fridge food tracking system, and a Funky Veg delivery system that allows purchase of ‘ugly’ fruits and veg that are aesthetically rejected by main stream grocery shops. Well done, Team AAHAR!
