SMAE Students receive Undergraduate Development Programme Certificates from Sensata Technologies

25 May, 2016
Sensata Awards

Pictured are L-R, Mark Galbraith, Stephen Colbert, Jonathan Simpson, Ryan Newell, Michael Mullally and Fionnbharr Brady from the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s, who are currently completing their industrial year placement with Schrader Electronics, part of Sensata Technologies and were awarded Undergraduate Development Programme and ILM certificates in Personal Effectiveness and Presentation Skills at an awards event in the Dunadry Hotel on Monday 23 May 2016.   The 6 Mechanical & Aerospace students were recruited as part of a group of 22 interns employed across different functional areas in the Company’s Carrickfergus and Antrim sites.  To complete the Undergraduate Programme, the interns were required to complete assessments such as reflective reviews and delivery of a presentation, along with participation at training days to develop student skills and knowledge in areas such as time management, assertiveness, organisational skills, teamwork, project management and presentation and communications skills.

The School acknowledges the effort that Schrader Electronics as part of Sensata Technologies have put into providing a dedicated Undergraduate  Development Programme to facilitate personal development and growth which will benefit the students’ academic study and longer term career prospects.    Well done to the placement students from Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s on their achievements.
