Celebrating Decades of Dedication

31 July, 2025

Farewell to Valued Colleagues

At the end of July, we marked an important moment in the life of our School as we said farewell to 18 of our colleagues who moved on through the recent voluntary severance scheme. While farewells often bring mixed emotions, this was a time for celebration, reflection and sincere appreciation.

Together, these colleagues contributed decades of service to the School. Their work included years of teaching, mentoring, researching, supporting, organising and caring. It involved thousands of students taught, hundreds of projects delivered and countless moments of quiet dedication that helped shape our community.

When many of these colleagues began their careers, the world of education looked very different. Technologies we now rely on were still in development, and the tools of the trade were simpler. Through all the changes in technology, culture and the institution itself, these individuals remained a constant source of strength and support.

Each person who left made a lasting impact. Whether through innovative research, inspiring teaching, student support or simply being the person who could solve a problem when no one else could, their contributions helped build the School we know today.

Many of our leavers were with us through times of transformation and growth. They helped shape the School’s identity and culture, and their legacy will continue to influence future generations.

This transition marked the end of a meaningful chapter. We hope the next chapter brings new opportunities, well-earned rest and time for personal passions. While we will miss their presence, we know their influence will remain.

We also want to acknowledge a few colleagues who left us at the end of their fixed-term contracts. Their contributions were equally valued, and they too will be missed by all of us.

On behalf of the entire School, we offer our heartfelt thanks and best wishes. You may have left the building, but you are aways welcome, and will always be part of our story.

Let’s raise a glass or a cup of tea to decades of excellence and to all the remarkable individuals who helped make it happen.
