Jonathan Browning, Siofra Frost, Robert Best and TJ Cosgrove (the EEECS prototeam) have proudly been awarded a Silver MacRobert Medal at the Primary Engineer MacRobert Medal Award Ceremony held recently in Glasgow. The accolade marks a significant achievement for the EEECS team, which ranked fourth out of the 24 competing UK teams.

This year's winning project from EEECS, a movable solar panel system, originated from an innovative idea proposed by Sam Curley, a pupil from St. Patrick's Primary School in Enniskillen. The project was part of the wider Leaders Award Competition, which challenges school pupils to think like engineers and solve real-world problems.

The movable solar panel system impressed judges with its practicality and potential impact on sustainable energy solutions. This award highlights the creative talents and engineering prowess within the EEECS team and underscores their commitment to integrating young students' ideas into impactful engineering projects. In addition to celebrating the achievements of the prototeams and pupils, the ceremony was a vibrant gathering of engineering enthusiasts and professionals, as well some school students whose ideas were brought to life.

Congratulations to all the award winners and the school pupils for their innovative contributions and to the EEECS prototeam for bringing home the Silver MacRobert Medal. The future of engineering looks bright with such enthusiastic and talented individuals leading the way.
