Dr Aoife McGrath (QUB): 'Dance and the Maternal: practice-as-research choreographies of maternal experience across the island of Ireland'
Dr Aoife McGrath is a dance practitioner-scholar and Senior Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast. She leads the 'Dance and the Maternal' project at QUB and co-leads the 'Dance and Borders' project (with Dr Victoria Durrer, UCD, and Dr Pete Campbell, University of Liverpool) and the 'Youth Dance Matters' project (with Dr Victoria Durrer, UCD ). She has published widely on dance in Ireland, and book publications include her monograph, Dance Theatre in Ireland: Revolutionary Moves (2013), and a co-edited collection (with Emma Meehan, CDaRe, Coventry), Dance Matters in Ireland: contemporary processes and practices (2018). Current collaborative projects are funded by Future Screens/AHRC, HEA North South Research Programme, and Irish Government's Cooperation with Northern Ireland Funding Scheme. Aoife is Co-President of the Irish Society for Theatre Research.
