GRADUATION AND PRIZE GIVING 2025

On Wednesday 2 July 2025 and Monday 8 December 2025 the School of School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics was proud to host Graduates and guests as they celebrated their wonderful achievements.

Professor James Davis, Head of the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics acknowledged the most outstanding achievements from these cohorts.  A huge congratulations to all our prize winners and the success of our PhD Graduates was also celebrated.

Masters Prize Giving 8 December 2025

Best Dissertation Prize

Awarded to the student with the best dissertation in any Masters.

Best Overall MA performance

Awarded to the student with the best overall performance in any Masters except Legislative.

Elizabeth Meehan MA Prize

Awarded to the student with the best overall dissertation in the area: equal opportunity, British-Irish relations, citizenship, EU politics.

Feargal McConville Prize in European Studies

Awarded to the student with the best dissertation in MA EU Politics.

Dr Harford Montgomery Hyde Prize

Awarded to the student who has obtained the highest aggregate mark in Single Honours in History.   A runner-up prize is awarded to the student who has obtained the highest aggregate mark in Single Honours in History

Esther Ballantine Prize

Awarded to the student with the best overall performance in Level 3 History

Montgomery Medal

The Montgomery Medal is awarded to the undergraduate student with the best dissertation on an aspect of current affairs in Ireland.
