Queen’s Business School Achieves Athena Swan Silver Award
Athena Swan Silver Award achieved in September 2025.

Queen’s Business School (QBS) is proud to announce it has been awarded the Athena Swan Silver Award, a prestigious recognition of its sustained commitment to advancing gender equality and promoting an inclusive environment for all staff and students.
The Athena Swan Charter, widely adopted across the UK higher education sector, provides a framework for identifying and addressing gender inequalities. QBS first received the Bronze Award in 2020, marking its commitment to gender equality. The Silver Award now demonstrates the School’s progress beyond commitment—evidencing structural changes, strategic actions, and positive outcomes achieved over the past five years.
The Silver Award is the result of a collaborative effort across the School. The QBS Swan Self-Assessment Team played a central role in developing the application, supported by the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) committee and the Queen’s Gender Initiative team who provided valuable feedback throughout the process.
This achievement reflects QBS’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity in its treatment of all staff and students, regardless of demographic background or tenure. The School will continue to build on this success, embedding inclusive practices and supporting diverse talent as part of its broader DEIB strategy.
