The Data For Good Hackathon is an annual event, where MSc Business Analytics students come together with industry mentors to develop data driven solutions aimed at solving some of society's most important problems.
In the 2023 Hackathon, students drew on open data and applied business intelligence and machine learning to address problems faced by the Northern Ireland's healthcare system: focusing on issues such as waiting time, health inequalities, and access to services.
For 2024 we are looking for:
- Third sector organisations or government bodies willing to provide a large dataset with the potential to make a positive impact on society.
- Businesses to support the Hackathon: to act as mentors, to sit on the judging panel, and to donate prizes for winning teams. A networking opportunity for organisations to meet upcoming Business Analytics graduates.
Apply via this form, selecting 'Support the Hackathon'.

Applications for the next round of Data Duo Mentoring will open in 2024.
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a mutually beneficial, three-way collaborative innovation project. KTPs drive a business innovation project and are designed to bring about lasting, transformative change.
