MSc AI in Business Internships
Queen’s Business School is inviting a select group of organisations to partner with us on the MSc Artificial Intelligence in Business internship programme. This one-year postgraduate degree attracts ambitious, high-performing students who are trained to bridge the gap between advanced AI capability and real business impact.
Only a limited number of organisations will be offered the opportunity to host interns, ensuring a focused, high-quality experience for both students and partners. We are looking for businesses with at least a foundation level of AI adoption and up to an advanced level where there is an ongoing focus on AI integration.
Our students undertake a rigorous curriculum spanning AI strategy, data-driven decision-making, design thinking, generative AI, emerging technologies, ethics, entrepreneurship, and consulting. By the time they reach the internship stage, they are equipped to analyse complex organisational challenges, evaluate AI opportunities, and propose responsible, commercially grounded solutions.
Our students are commercially minded analysts who understand:
- AI in business and society
- Generative AI and business intelligence
- Strategy, change, and analytics
- Design thinking with AI
- AI entrepreneurship and consulting
- Ethical and responsible AI
They are prepared to translate technical concepts into actionable business recommendations.
Businesses across all sectors are under pressure to understand and leverage AI. Our students can help you:
- Identify high-value AI use cases
- Analyse data-driven opportunities
- Evaluate existing tools and workflows
- Explore ethical, legal, and governance considerations
- Assess emerging technologies and competitive implications
This is a low-risk way to advance your AI thinking without diverting significant internal resources.
We recognise that time and capacity are real constraints. The internship is designed to be manageable for employers:
- Unpaid options as internships are embedded in the curriculum
- Short onboarding conversation to outline your organisation and priorities
- A single point of contact (no heavy supervision required)
- Optional in-office exposure, as remote or hybrid collaboration works well
- Option to host a small student team if the scope includes multiple projects or focus areas
Students work independently, drawing on their academic training to deliver structured analysis and insight.
To support a meaningful internship, we ask for:
- A high-level overview of your organisation and strategic context
- Insight into where AI, data, automation, or digital technologies currently sit — or where you see potential
- Access to a staff member who can answer occasional questions
- Willingness to meet periodically with the student to ensure alignment
- Any relevant non-confidential information that will help students understand your challenge
The scope can be exploratory (e.g., “Where could AI add value here?”) or focused (e.g., “Evaluate our current analytics workflow”).
