Mourne Photographic Archive Project
The Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership 29-04-2016

The Mourne Mountains Landscape Partnership, in association with the Centre for Data Digitisation and Analysis at QUB, is hosting a number of events to capture images of Mourne in days gone by.  An electronic archive will be created and shared via the Mournelive website (eg of photos, written documents, artefacts etc). 

Photos will be scanned while you wait.  The scanned image will be digitally enhanced and the owner will be supplied digital copies of all their images.  Traditional artefacts can also be photographed during these events. 

Themes that are of interest include:

Quarrying and the granite industry; the building of the Mourne Wall/Silent Valley/Binnian Tunnel/Ben Crom Dam; Annalong Cornmill & the built heritage of the area; Traditional ways of life (eg traditional and hearthside skills)

Annalong Community Centre, Annalong

Time :  10.00 am — 3.00 pm each day
