Wiles Lectures 2016

 

The Wiles Lectures for 2016 were delivered by Professor Jay Winter, Charles J. Stille Professor of History at Yale University, on 18-21 May 2016.

Professor Winter's Wiles lectures were given on the theme: 'Imagining War in the Twentieth Century and Beyond'.

The Geometry of Memory (Wednesday 18 May at 5pm)

Photographing War (Thursday 19 May at 5pm)

Memory and the sacred (Friday 20 May at 5pm)

Silences: War beyond Words (Saturday 21 May at 11am)

 

The Lectures were published as War beyond Words: Languages of Remembrance from the Great War to the Present  (Cambridge UP, 2017)
