The School of Psychology welcomes new member of staff, Dr Grace Carroll
Dr Grace Carroll - Lecturer in Animal Behaviour and Welfare
Grace graduated from IADT Dun Laoghaire with a BSc in Applied Psychology in 2011. She then completed her MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and PhD in Animal Welfare Science here at QUB, graduating in 2017. Her PhD research focused on the development of ante- and post-mortem indicators of lifetime welfare in pigs. Grace was awarded the British Society of Animal Science ‘Impact to Industry’ prize for her research in 2015.
In 2016, Grace took up a position as Programme Manager of an MRes in Anthrozoology at Hartpury University where she lectured on topics including the Human-Animal Bond and Animal Behaviour. Grace has also worked within the animal industry as a Research and Development Officer for Moypark. Grace’s research interests include animal welfare, the effect of ‘infant schema’ in animals on human behaviour, and evolutionary psychology.
