Thinking about time at the Northern Ireland Science Festival

We were delighted to be able to share three of our researchers’ work at this year’s Northern Ireland Science Festival.  Both Dr Ioana Latu and Dr Kostas Papageorgiou gave sold out presentations around the use of virtual reality within gender equality and personality types including narcissism.

Prof Teresa McCormack and Dr Victoria Simm’s research on the development of children’s thinking about time was discussed with Radio 4’s Claudia Hammond and will be shortly available via BBC Sounds.

Prof McCormack was also busy at W5 Odyssey with Dr Paddy O’Connor, Dr Sara Lorimer and Dr Christoph Hoerl.  Together they were exploring the philosophy and psychology of time.  Local children were also able to try out a delay gratification task and make illustrations with local artist Brian John Spencer, around the concept of time.

We had such a fantastic time at the Festival and look forward to contributing in 2021.  Please let us know here what you’d like to see next year.
