New Directorships for 2024/5 – Welcome to Gavin, Judith & Tim

David Keir Building
School of Psychology

Many congratulations and good luck to our newly appointed Directors.

Dr Gavin Breslin will take up the Director of Research position in November 2024.  He said:

“I’m delighted to be taking up the position of Director of Research within the School of Psychology and look forward to leading research that has local and global impact to improve people’s lives”.

Gavin is currently funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to assess the effectiveness of public health interventions as part of the Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST) initiative.

Dr Tim Fosker is our new Director of Education.  Tim said about the role:

"I’m excited to be taking up the position of Director of Education of the undergraduate programmes in the School of Psychology. I'm looking forward to working with the EPS Faculty Education team and supporting our own talented lecturers in continuing to deliver a high-quality educational experience for our students."

Tim is a developmental cognitive neuroscientist and developmental psychologist who is broadly interested in the development of speech, language and literacy.

Tim and Gavin are joined by Dr Judith Wylie who continues her position of Director of Internationalisation.

Her research focuses on basic cognitive processes and their application within educational contexts.
