Introducing #PsychologyConnect

Psychology Connect logoLaunched in September 2022, Psychology Connect is a programme of co-curricular and pastoral activities for all students within the School of Psychology.

The aim of this is to provide students with the opportunity to mix and socialise with each other, to help form deeper bonds with each other and a connection with the School – hoping to foster a sense of belonging. We know from studies across the UK that increased belonging leads to greater retention and success for our students.

The programme is based around the Five Steps to Wellbeing, Take 5 (HSCNI) – of Connect, Take notice, Give, Be active and Keep Learning, and included a visit from a farm to the Psychology building, walking tours of the PEC, mindfulness sessions and drumming circles. So far, feedback has been positive and we hope to continue to build on this success.
